Objective: To create a blog that educates your audience about ecology and the effects of man on the ecosystem.
1. What comprises ecology? [Habitat, population, community & ecosystem, how are they linked?]
Ecology: The study of interactions between groups of organisms and their enviroment.
The place where an organism lives is its habitat. A group of organism of the same species living together makes up a population. All the populations of organisms living and interacting with each other in a particular habitat makes up a community. A community and its physical or abiotic enviroment together makes up an ecosystem.
Therefore, a habitat comprises of different populations of species living together thus making up a community and the physical/abiotic enviroment together with the community nonetheless makes up an ecosystem.
Habitat -> Population -> Community -> Ecosystem -> Biosphere ( Includes all parts of the Earth where life can be found )
