5. What is the relationship between a predator and a prey? (ii)Two predators with the same prey?
An increase in the population size of the prey would imply that there is more supply of food for the predator, thus, an increase in the number of predator occurs. Thus, to satisfy the increased number of predators, more preys would be eaten causing a decrease in the population of the preys. Because of the decrease in population of the preys, it would mean that there would be less food for the predators, would cause the population size of the predator to fall. This decrease in population of the predators would allow an increase in the number of preys.
Predator and Prey.
(ii)If there are two predators after the same prey, the population size of the prey would be smaller. Thus, less food for both the predators causing a decrease in population size of both predators. Which would then cause a big increase in the number of prey since the population size of both its predator would be small.
